CHAPTER ONE

It's about 12:30 on a Saturday morning and just like any other day I walked down the stairs to the kitchen and I heard "good morning sweetheart" coming from my mother, and "It's so nice you can finally join us" coming from my father. Instead of replying with an apologetic smile, like I usually do, I  rolled my eyes, went to the fridge, grabbed the milk and chugged it. "That's not very lady like" said mother, like she does whenever I do something "inappropriate," "Well then maybe I should've been born a boy" I replied as I walked over to the table to read the newspaper. Normally I'm a lot nicer to my mother, and I usually never talk back, but lately I haven't been able to be my normal "sweet" self. Already sitting at the table are my two very "lovely", yet very annoying sisters, Summer and Autumn. Sometimes I wonder how I got so lucky as to not be named after a season, but I never ask, for fear that my parents will realize they messed up and want to legally change my name. I mean really, would you enjoy being called Spring or Winter? Yeah I didn't think so, hence the reason why I keep my mouth shut.
"Don't you ever get sick of sleeping in so late?" asked Summer..... She is my twin sister by the way. We may look alike but we are completely different in so many ways.
"Jade! Hello! I'm talking to you" said Summer, frustrated because I acted as though I didn't hear her.
"Nope" I said calmly, as I noticed an article about a hunting accident.
"I bet you don't really sleep in. What is it that you really do in the mornings? Come on, tell the truth. What are you hiding?" Summer asked with a smirk on her face.
Lifting my head up from the paper I sarcastically said "You're right. I actually wake up real early, sneak into your room and blow my nose on every clean shirt you have in your closet. That way you have a piece of me wherever you go."
"Jade!" screamed mother, "That is not funny!"
I apologized halfheartedly and went back to reading the paper. My mother might not have thought it was funny, but I was trying my hardest not to burst into uncontrollable laughter after I saw the disgusted look on my sisters' face as she looked down at her shirt to see if there was anything on it.
The fact is, Summer already knows I don't really sleep in, she was just trying to get me into trouble.
I actually wake up at five every morning to go for a jog, after which, I take a shower then get on the computer for a few hours, until I'm ready to go downstairs and deal with the rest of the family. The jog wouldn't bother my parents, actually they would probably be happy to hear that I do some kind of exercise everyday because they think I'm lazy... It's the fact that I go onto this UK chat room that I found last year, that would send them over the edge. A few years back they went on this rant about how unsafe chat rooms are, and how stupid people are for talking to strangers and willingly give them personal information, blah blah blah. Apparently the girl down the street got into some kind of trouble when a forty-three year old man tracked her down and tried to.... Well let's just say it's too inappropriate for me to mention. So I guess I understand why they would get so worked up if they found out what I was doing.
So it stays as one of my few secrets. The only reason Summer knows is because she snuck into my room one day to use my laptop and saw that the sight was bookmarked. I thought I would never live that down, but then I caught her smoking one of dad's cigarettes and threatened to tell if she didn't keep my secret. I'm not really sure why, all of the sudden, she doesn't care if our parents find out anymore.
The chat room is where I spent most of my time. The people there are usually vary nice, some are a little pervy, but mostly it's nice talking to random people about what's going on in the world. That particular day I had started chatting with a guy named Bentley, who was apparently nineteen years old and worked as a security guard somewhere in Lancashire, England. We only talked for about thirty minutes until he had to go back to work, but I had gotten a good vibe from the guy.

PREFACE

The lights are practically blinding, the noise.... well lets just say it's off the charts. There is so much going on outside and so little in here. Yet, in here, is where everyone will be in a matter of twenty minutes.
Thats how long I figure it will take them before they realize something has gone terribly wrong. That's how long it will take them to realize I'm gone.
I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I figured this would happen sooner or later. I just didn't think it would happen like this. It doesn't matter though, they wont miss me anyway. The only thing they will be worried about is the mess, but I will do them a favor and keep it as clean as possible.
